Viking-centric sailing principles create bold adventures, exploration, and camaraderie — led by those who yearn for challenge and strive to safely do what has never been done before
We won’t just sail — we’ll embrace challenge the way the Vikings did: with grit, curiosity, and unity. Led by those who yearn for more than routine, the Nevado Raiders fleet will set out to explore coastlines, cultures, and the limits of what’s possible — together. At stops where it makes sense — and when the fleet is ready for it — we’ll unlock bold experiences: We’ll race with the wind, testing our sailing skills in spirited regattas. We’ll snorkel vibrant reefs and explore sea caves where silence speaks louder than words. We may hike remote trails, discover waterfalls, or take in views few others ever see. We’ll connect with locals, learning from their music, their meals, and their way of life. Whether it’s helping prepare a beach feast, joining a village celebration, or simply listening around a fire, we’ll go deeper — not just farther. Each journey will be shaped by those who live it — not a rigid itinerary. As a group, we will make the impossible... possible.
Every legend needs a launch point — and for the Nevado Raiders, that’s the Nevado Ranch Camp, perched at 6,993 feet in the White Mountains of Arizona. This is our basecamp — where the fleet will come together to plan raids, prep gear, share stories, and celebrate under the stars. There’s plenty of space to park your vehicles & trailered boat, along with designated areas for tents, rooftop setups, and Class B vans.
We prefer to keep things grounded and simple. Given the vehicles and their towed boat trailer — so we kindly ask that full-size RVs stay elsewhere unless they are willing to park their RV right outside the gate on the county road, and then bring their camping gear onto the Camp. Campers will have their choice of settling into the lush, open tall fescue grass — perfect for socializing and soaking up the camp vibe — or finding a more private spot tucked among the juniper trees for a quieter, more secluded experience. At the heart of camp is the recreation deck, pulsing with music and energy — the place where impromptu dance parties happen, guitars come out, and the fire never dies. Nearby, a volleyball net, picnic tables, and wide-open skies invite both play and connection. Anchoring it all is the longhouse — a rustic-modern hub with a shared kitchen, shower, and relaxation space, where stories, laughter, and coffee flow in equal measure. We’ll sharpen our minds, ready our sails, and throw a few unforgettable parties before heading into the unknown.
It’s where the spirit of the Raiders takes root — long before we ever touch the water.
